Dogs can use your toothpaste… IF you are using an unfluoridated, non-foaming toothpaste. Your Crest or Colgate with fluoride will upset your dog’s stomach (from the foaming) and can cause fluoride poisoning because a dog won’t “rinse and spit”. You can brush your dog’s teeth safely with most toddler toothpaste.
You can use your dog’s toothpaste in a pinch. It doesn’t have fluoride, which our teeth need in tiny amounts. Additionally, according to our suppliers, the most popular flavors of dog toothpaste are poultry and seafood.
