I hope so. Pet insurance has been around in the USA since 1982. We have been telling our clients about it ever since. I still cringe daily when a client is paying for their expensive visit and says “I wish there was health insurance for pets.” Clearly, the message isn’t getting out adequately.
Any trip to a pet emergency facility is likely to run $500–3000. A procedure by a specialist may be $3500–30,000. Yes, 30 THOUSAND dollars. Wouldn’t it be nice to pay your deductible of $100-1000, then have 70–90% of the balance paid by insurance?
I own my veterinary practice. I still have pet insurance, because I don’t want to end up at an emergency clinic and have to decline the $4000 surgery on a Saturday night by a boarded surgeon.
