Yes. The Christmas tree has a cord carrying 110V to the tree, no different than a lamp cord. A few years ago, a friend’s cat chewed a lamp cord. $50,000 in fire damage to his house and the cat barely survived a week in the emergency clinic (probably a few thousand dollars for that). Your tree is full of wires that have less protection than a lamp cord.
