I see the opposite, and from the other side. For many years, our clients often had trouble leaving work for a veterinary appointment with a sick pet. Therefore, they would drop off their pet with us on the way to work and the doctors would fit them in between other procedures and appointments, calling the client with recommendations. This gave us more flexibility to see more of our sick patients even with a full schedule.
In recent years, more employers will grant time off for pet appointments. To go along with that, many people have more fully integrated their pets into their families and are unwilling to just drop them off. They see their veterinary visits as important as their children’s pediatric visits.
