We are happy to see you and your pet! We know life happens, and sometimes it is as simple as not remembering that an extra year or three have gone by. Just be honest when you do come in. If a problem has been brewing for a while, as opposed to appearing only last week, that is information the doctor uses in deciding appropriate treatment.
The same goes for any problem you have been watching on an animal. It is normal to watch a limp, lump, hair loss, etc., hoping it will go away on its own. Just don't tell us that baseball-size lump appeared yesterday if you have watched it grow for six months. That changes what is recommended.
Veterinarians want to help your pet and to help you. They are not out to judge you. That only gets in the way of effectively communicating to address any current problems or to re-establish wellness care.
